Jan. 2008 to Present:

China representative of Fogo Cooperative Society Ltd. of Newfoundland, Canada.

Position: Assistant Vice President

Responsibilities and performances:

  • Financial and mining adviser to Chinese companies acquiring overseas resources;
  • Consultant in Chinese market entry service for international businesses;
  • Investment banking service for Chinese companies.

Financial and mining advising service:

  • Have advised a dozen of main Chinese steel mills (BaoSteel, Wuhan Steel, Anshan Steel, Nanjing Steel, Shougang Steel, ShaSteel etc.) and several Chinese metal trading houses (SinoSteel, Minmetals, CMMC etc.) on Brazilian, Columbian, Indian and South African iron ore resource acquisition and trade. In May 2005, I took the Wuhan Steel professionals to Palabora Magnetite Corporation in South Africa for a two weeks’ due diligence;
  • Have advised SinoSteel, Zijin Mining, Jinchuan Nickel etc. on acquiring nickel resources in Madagascar of Africa and in BC of Canada;
  • Have participated in advising Sinopec on acquiring oil sand resources in Northern Light Oil Sand in BC of Canada;
  • Have advised an Inner Mongolian coal mine in forming joint venture with a Canadian company regarding a CTL project. This is a TSXV listed company. It has uranium resources in Yukon Territory of Canada.

Chinese market entry consultancy:

  • Have advised WRCA (Wire Rope Corporation of America, No.1 industrial leader in North America and one of the biggest three in the world) to form a joint venture with Wuhan Iron and Steel Corporation (No.2 steel mill in China) with total investments of US$ 105 millions. In this case, I visited and reported on 14 Chinese wire rope companies, 5 pre-stressed concrete strand mills, assisted and interpreted in all the transaction negotiations and all the video conferences.

Investment banking service:

  • Have helped Chinese companies of Shandong Kelong Cow Breeding, Liaoyuan Beef Processing, Hengshui Liquid Brewing, Hengshui Steel Welded Pipes, Heyang Steel Billets, Fushun Commercial Real Estates, etc. to raise funds by private placement;
  • Have participated in advising Jiangbei Corporation of Wuhan Iron and Steel Corporation, a downstream steel product player to go public in North America.

May 2002 – Mar. 2004

Employer: Federal International Finance Inc, Canada (Beijing)

Position: General Manager and Representative of FIF’s Beijing Office of 13 staff of different depts.

Responsibilities and performances:

  • Managed my team to help two Chinese companies, Jiangsu Donghao Coating Paints and Dandong Electronic Aluminum Coils, to list in Canadian Stock Exchanges;
  • Assisted 6 Chinese companies in due diligence and regrouping for their efforts to finance in foreign markets.

Partner and Sales Manager of Link-Up Technology in Toronto, Canada to sell made-in-Taiwan computer mother-boards. I headed the team of 7 sales reps to achieve CN$ 3 millions sales in 2000.

Owner of Can-Sino International Metal, Canada. I personally managed the company of 9 people to process the used motors and to sell scrap metals.
