Delegation arriving today in Doha

St. John’s, NL, November 17, 2017- Fogo Island Cooperative Society is pleased to announce its arrival in Doha, Qatar today as part of it’s 2017 Canada-Qatar Trade Mission. The delegation which includes General Manager Phil Barnes will be marketing and promoting its vast portfolio of natural seafood products to key wholesalers, buyers, and distributors in the Middle East. The delegation’s goal is to increase awareness of its products in the region and gauge the interest of local buyers, wholesalers, and distributors to help find mutual solutions to Qatar’s food security issues.

As part of the mission, they are launching their Best Cod on the Planet! campaign in the region. This campaign will feature special taste testing and information sessions on their Atlantic Ocean codfish, caught off the coast of Newfoundland. In conjunction with Doug Power, President of Atlantic Trading Corporation and Wanda Cuff Young, CEO of White Rock Consulting & Communications, Fogo Island has made several connections in Doha ahead of their arrival and have reached out to individual suppliers, distributors, hotels, and news outlets in the State of Qatar. Their first event is scheduled to be held next week at the Ezdan Hotel in Doha.

Fogo Island’s first stop will be the Canadian Embassy where they will meet with the Canadian Ambassador to the State of Qatar, Adrian Norfolk. More updates to follow.
